Just a short note to tell everyone that I'm starting a Job tomorrow with a Micron subsidiary called Transform Solar. It's a joint venture with an Australian company that was formed a year ago so it is still in start up mode and that's exciting to me.
That and a lot of other things have come together in the last few days and we are so excited. The job description was Software Engineer, Business Analyst and "Jack-of-all-Trades". I think it will be a perfect fit. One of the people in my group at Transform, Tim Clark, is a person that worked under me nearly 30 years ago. He was an operator in one of the test areas who said he was taking some night classes and wanted to be a programmer. Long story short, I took him under my wing and saw that he became a programmer. He'd been laid off my Micron 2 years ago and a while back was hired by Transform Solar. He was the one that primarily gave me my technical interview. Ed Mahoney, who I hired when I first joined Micron, and is now Micron's IT VP, made me aware of the job and then vouched for me to get me the job. When you come through for someone, it may take thirty years, but in your time of need and a little help from the Lord, the favor is returned.
Let's all remember the proper way to tell people about my job. We tell people I came out of retirement when a unique opportunity presented itself. We don't say "Dad's been loafing for three years and finally got off his hindside because he ran out of things to waste his time doing."
I love you all. Thank you for your prayers and concern.
