Christmas 2013

The big present for our family this year is that we're going to Disneyland in February.  A great big  Minnie announced the news (with a Disneyland guide book) when we first came downstairs.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We've been getting ready for Christmas around here.  We got some big wreaths for our outside upstairs windows, it looks great in the day too.  That was inspired by last year's December Cincinnati trip.  There are lots of Colonial style houses and people put big wreaths in all their windows and it's so pretty.

This year, I wanted to shake things up with our big tree (the kids have their own tree that they get to decorate themselves).  So we did a different color scheme with glitter butterflies and other fun ornaments.  I'm not sure I'll stick with this every year, but it was fun to try something different.

Things have been going pretty well lately.  We had a stressful week a couple weeks ago waiting to get BethAnne's bladder checked for cancer because she's been having weird bleeding with infections.  But everything looks good there.  Andy may have a small surgical procedure next week to put a stent in his tear duct.  Other than that, he seems very healthy and getting so big.  He doesn't have many symptoms of acid reflux anymore, so he may go off of that medicine soon.


And here's a picture of our sweet baby Andy. I took this picture when I was taking pictures of the tree and I thought of the words "sleep in heavenly peace."  He's such a sweetie.  He just got both of his bottom teeth in and they're adorable.  I'll have to get a picture soon.  He's been a pretty happy, easy baby lately, except for waking up more at night (I think because of the teeth coming in).  We're so blessed.  Have a very merry Christmas.  Love you all!

It's been awhile since I took pictures of Andy so I thought I'd take some.  I just used the camera on my phone, so the pictures aren't great, but he's so cute.  He's doing well and we're all doing well (though I need to figure out how to get more sleep).  It's a happy time and we're feeling so blessed.  Have a great week!

Happy Conference weekend everyone!  This is one of my favorite weekends of the year.  I took these pictures of Andy a couple minutes ago.  He loves sitting in his feeding seat (even though he doesn't eat solid food yet).  His colic seems to be getting better every day and that's a big blessing.  He's also the best sleeper of all my babies.  I feed him before I go to bed and then he usually only has one feeding around 4am and then he sleeps until about 8:30am.  So we're getting onto a good schedule and finding our way as a family of six.  Have a great week!

Joy's 4th Birthday

Joy was very lucky to have two birthday parties this year.  First she got to have a birthday party in Logan.  We had such a great trip to Logan and the birthday party was one of the highlights of the trip.  Lisa got this great cake and Joy loved it!  It was so fun to celebrate with so many loved ones.

I love Lisa in the background, such a pretty smile.  And it was great to make a new friend with Emily Greer (next to Joy in the picture), she and Grace were tied at the hip all weekend.

Then on Monday, we had a birthday party with the Rogers.  I got quite ambitious with the cake (trying to implement Joy's design ideas) and Joy loved it.  It had rainbow frosting between the layers made with concentric rings of different colored frosting.  I'm still sore from making it (my Fibro's not great right now), but it was worth it.

Joy got so many wonderful presents, she's been having a great week playing with her new toys.  She is such a happy addition to our family.  She's struggling a bit with the idea of not being the baby anymore, but I know she'll adjust and be happier than ever.  We love our sweet Joy.

Here are some pictures I took of Andy during the last couple weeks.  He's smiling more and more and he's crying less and less, so things are looking up.  He's been off his monitor for a couple weeks and he's doing great.  We love our little Andy!

Anniversary

Today was our 14th Anniversary.  It's our tradition to go out to eat with all our kids on our anniversary, it seems more complete to have them there with us.  We had a great dinner except for some wasps (we started outside and then quickly went inside once our food and the wasps came).  We also had a lovely date by ourselves on Saturday going to the Temple and then to dinner.  I'm so grateful to be married to such a wonderful man.  It has been an amazing 14 years, full of challenges and joy.  Through it all, we've been so blessed to have each other.  I love you, Mark.

Our Andy

I got a few good pictures of Andy today on my phone.  Andy has been having a bit of colic, which is lots of fun.  So he often looks a bit like this, but he often is just crying when he's awake so that's not quite as cute.
 

We're hoping that he feels better soon so he can spend more time looking like this.  Grace and Joy have asked for ear plugs or ear muffs to block the crying and Joy asked me the other day if all babies cried this much.  I think he's going to be better really soon though (we're trying every remedy known to man).  I  have big plans for Aunt Chrissy when she gets home from California and it involves me getting a nap sometime, or Mark and I getting a date :)  (Chrissy is amazing with babies, so I think she could handle Mr. Andy and his fussiness).  Have a great week!

Blessing Day!

Today was Andy's blessing day.  He looked so sweet in this sweater outfit and beautiful blanket that Mom gave me.  Mark gave Andy a lovely blessing.  I'm so grateful to have this sweet baby in our family.

Today it felt like a blessing day for all of us because we have lots of blessings.  I know that Heavenly Father has been watching out for us and that we have been protected.  I know that the God of Heaven hears our prayers and keeps His promises and that there are good things to come.

Grace's Birthday!

We had Grace's 7th birthday party with the Llewellyn and Bousquet cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house!  We love the summer when Suzie comes to visit!  Part of the party was a rubber ducky race in Grandma's canal, so much fun!
