Fun month

We started the month off right with the reunion, and then we tried to make the most of the rest of the summer. I've got these pictures out of order, but here's Tyler on his first day of kindergarten. As you can see, there are plenty of kids his age in the neighborhood. He's got a crush on the girl standing next to him - yep, he has good taste.

We did s'mores and hot dogs at the park a few Mondays ago (since we never got around to it during the reunion). It was a fun family night activity.

We got to go horseback riding with some friends we haven't seen in over 3 years. They live in Newport Beach, so we think we'll go and visit them next! Vanessa is a professional photographer there, and she got me excited about photography again. I've been looking at cameras and saving up for one (though I lost my job and won't be looking for a new one, so money isn't exactly falling from the sky).

Brian has a great work party every year at a small amusement park here. We got to rock climb and do bumper cars. I even went on a really scary ride. We had a great time.

I was the world's best and worst mom all in the same day yesterday. We took the kids to play tennis, I made french bread and cinnamon rolls, and then I got out the slip-and-slide to celebrate the last really hot day of summer (at least that's what the weather man called it). I even braved it a few times (though my arms are paying the price this morning!). Brian sprayed a bunch of wasps while we were outside, and they went everywhere. One even went down my shirt and stung me three times before Brian bear-hugged me (and it) to death. I almost stripped right then and there in our front yard, but I showed a little restraint and waited until I was in the entryway (but I think the door was still open). The kids played on that darn slip-n-slide (actually just a thick, long piece of plastic that Brian staked into the ground) for over 5 hours. They slept SOOO well last night. Here's where the bad mom part comes in. I was too tired to cook last night, so we had cinnamon rolls for dinner. That's all we ate. The boys didn't mind, but I think it was the least nutritious meal I have ever served. So that's about it for now. I better go get those yahoos ready for church (which Tyler just informed me is "WAY, WAY, WAY too wong and borin."

Pictures!

It took a bit of cutting and pasting, but each kid's best shot has been used in this final picture. The sibling pics look good, and I think the group ones turned out great too. When I get a minute (and after I tweak a few more things) I'll post them on a web album so you can order the sizes you want...

It's All Good

What I great month this has been. Turning 55. An outpouring of love from all of you. I don't know if all of you have seen the picture that so many of you went in on. It's got a little glare, but here it is:

And I loved the reunion. What a great treat for me to be with all of you. I wish I could have spent more time with each one of you. I even enjoyed my ATV adventure (What I can remember of it). The bruises are healed but I haven't been able to shake the headaches.

Everyone's live's seem so busy. Chrissy, Jon, Rick and Mom off to college. Mark and Aubrey off to Washington. Raising kids and paying the bills. I even get to find a real job.

Mom and I are well. This is not going to be a dull year and we will make it work for our good. Thank you all for your love and prayers.

I just wanted all of you to know how excited I was that all of you were able to come to the reunion. Even my mom and dad, and Kathy's mom. We love you all.

Cincinnati

Hi Family,

BethAnne and I had a fun (and exhausting) trip to Cincinnati. We were very happy to learn that BethAnne's bladder seems to have more than doubled in size in the last few months and is looking great to the doctors. This is a great blessing, finally the surgery in January seems worth it. She also got a new flat button on her tummy which should not bother her as much as the old one. The Nephrologist (kidney doctor) in Cincinnati was very happy to learn that we are moving to Seattle. Apparently, some of the best pediatric nephrologists are in Seattle. It will be very good to have BethAnne's kidneys monitored more closely. Now that her bladder looks good, the next step is to preserve her kidneys and make sure they are doing their job well enough (which is what a Nephrologist does). As I listened to the Nephrologist rave about the doctors in Seattle, I really felt that that may be a big reason we've been led to Seattle. We are planning to move to the Seattle area on about September 20th. We are flying to Seattle next weekend to find a place to live. We think it will be a fun trip. Thank you for your calls of concern this last week, I really appreciate it. I hope you are all doing well.
Love,
Aubrey

Logan Reunion

Hi Everyone,

It was great to see all of you in Logan. Thank you Lisa and Brian for being such great hosts! We took some really cute pictures, so I wanted to post some. I also have more pictures on my web album at http://picasaweb.google.com/aubreyann/Logan . In other news, it looks like we're moving to the Seattle area. It's kind of scary, but we feel it's the right thing to do. Microsoft has great relocation assistance, so that will help. We hope you are all well.
Love,
Aubrey

Lisa: Any Rooms Still Available?

Yes, it's official. I'm coming to the reunion! On Tuesday I found out that my job assignment I've had all summer will be ending next Wednesday, and the timing was just too perfect to pass up. Hopefully the trip out to Utah will serve a second purpose in helping me secure a job in Provo, so pray for me to get an interview or two while I'm out there. Jon really wishes he could come too, but he is going to be big-brother-extraordinaire and watch Katie and Aaron while his folks leave for Paris next Saturday. He's even going to take Katie (now entering 5th grade) to "Meet-the-Teacher Night" while I'm still gone. I sure married a good one, didn't I? :) I'm so excited to see you all and am looking forward to a great time! Much love!
