Omaha, my Omaha

Hello loved ones! Just wanted to let you all know that we made it to Omaha safely and are really enjoying it so far. Jon likes his job a lot, even if he is pretty overwhelmed, and I've registered with a bunch of temp agencies in the hopes that I'll get a job soon. There's a promising opportunity with a company that would last all summer and pay pretty well, so cross your fingers with me on that one! The Hastings have been so awesome to us and things are pretty comfortable already. For anyone who needs/wants it (I know Aubrey was looking for it) our address here is:

Hello all! I am so happy to be the daughter, sister and aunt of all of you wonderful people (especially aunt!) Your little ones are all so adorable, and I especially miss the ones I haven't seen recently--Carl and Suzie, you just live too far away! Still, we're happy for all of you and the great families you have begun, even if we do live all over. I'm happy to be graduating this week and student teaching was almost worth not having finals--almost. :) It's been relaxing to not have anything to worry about this last week or so, and I've even gotten a jump start on packing. We've officially decided to move to Omaha this summer for Jon to work as a project manager with his dad's company, Dial Equities. Dial Equities is a property management company that acquires, renovates and manages large multi-family complexes all over the Midwest. Jon will traveling throughout the South as he oversees many of the renovations. He'll also be making 3D renderings of the newly renovated apartments. Man, I have a brilliant husband! Despite his misgivings about working for his dad, this really is an incredible internship opportunity, and he even gets a new laptop! I'm not quite sure what kind of work I'll get for the summer, since waitressing doesn't really fit with Jon's 8-5 schedule, so I'll probably temp or find a secretary job somewhere. As for September...I'm pretty sure I'm not going to teach next school year and so I'm not sure what kind of job I'll end up with. I'll teach someday, but I think I'd be happier with a less high-stress job in this stage of my life as a young wife. Jon's almost done with finals and his family starts getting into town on Wednesday (Jon's brother is graduating too), then I'm thrilled to see Mom and Dad on Friday. So that's about it with us...just wanted to make sure everyone knew what was going on with the Hastings. :) By the way, Rick needs to start posting on here too! Does anyone want to second that motion? We love you Rick and wish you luck with the new semester! Love you all!

"I lub Dinneyland"

We just got back from our trip to California and we had a great time. It was four days jammed packed of things to do so by the end of the trip it was hard to tell who was more tired, Ben and Bo or Carl and I. We had a day at the beach, which Ben couldn't get enough of. He didn't want to get in the water because it was too cold but the "big sandbox" was heaven for him. After getting home I scrubbed his head for five minutes trying to get all of the sand out

He loved the swimming pool and wasn't afraid to jump in. In fact he loved it when he would go all they way under the water. Even with 95 degree temperature he preferred lounging in the hot tub with his cousin Will. My sister's baby blessing was on Sunday and then we had a nice day at the park where the kids played for hours. Ben loves dogs and was excited to find three all together. On Monday we went to Disneyland with my sister Val and her two kids and my parents. Luckily it cooled off a bit from the record 102 they had the day before in Anaheim. We lucked out with the lines and it was so fun to watch Ben's excitement as we were there. Ben said "I lub Dinneyland" probably 50 times during the day. He loved the Nemo ride and Autopia (driving the cars). He loved seeing all of the DSisney characters in fact he almost knocked Winnie the Pooh down as he was rushing indoors to take his break. Ben chased after him saying "Hi Pooh, Hi Pooh, Hi Pooh" Pooh finally stopped and Ben gave him the biggest hug, I really thought he was going to fall over. We were able to ride on all of the rides we wanted to. We watched the parade for a few minutes and then left so we could make it home at a decent hour. The second we were outside the gate and the music had stopped Ben was fast asleep. Bo was such a trooper. He spent most of the day asleep in the stroller although he rode on the nemo ride with us and I'm sure he was so confused. Carl was such a huge help the entire vacation. I love my 3 boys

Good News

Hi Guys, I just wanted to let you all know that Mark passed his second phone interview with Google and he's now going to have an onsite interview sometime. He's so brilliant, I'm such a lucky girl! So we're happy. I thought I'd include a picture of our snowy daffodils (taken a few days ago). We're hoping the weather warms up soon. I'll keep you posted. We love you. Love, Aubrey

The news, the pictures.....I just love to get a glimpse into your lives! Thanks so much for taking the time to "blog." As for me and my house?? We are happy and busy! I am in the midst of a huge Relief Society week.....Enrichment luncheon for senior sisters today, temple session with my presidency tonight, women's conference on Saturday - we are hosting a guest speaker from Salt Lake, 6am stake council, and talk in a ward conference on Sunday, and stake leadership meeting on Tuesday. Wheww! Then I get to rest for a few months :) School is going well....I'm starting to love it....Rick is all set to start BYU Idaho on April 21st, and there's a lot of hope on the horizon with the subdivision - 2 parade homes for the end of April! We are so looking forward to Chrissy and Carl's graduation and will have fun in Provo (we will say a toast to you, Carl, while we're there!) So proud of all of you....so glad I'm your mother!

Our AC works

We used our AC for the first time today. I bet none of you have used yours yet this year. Anyways, we loved conference. I really liked Uchdorf''s talk during the priesthood session. Next weekend we are going to California to go see Stacey's (Steph's sister) new baby. Not a whole lot is new. Bo weighs 14 pounds now. He's a little chunk-a-lunk. Ben is getting to be a big boy now. He has learned that he doesn't have to listen to mommy or daddy...which can be really frustrating. but right now both the boys are asleep, which is really peaceful, and they are so sweet when they sleep. We think that ya'all should invest in webcams because we have one and they are really fun and we would love to see you in person.

Easter, Grandma's, and BethAnne's Birthday!

So it's been too long since I've posted anything - I dont' know where to start! Here's a picture of the kids on Easter morning. Cameron's black eye is from a flying toy he ran into. We went to a crazy community easter egg hunt that didn't actually involve eggs or hunting. Basically, a thousand ziploc bags (full of jelly beans and cinnamon bunnies) had been thrown on the church lawn and the kids walked two steps and picked up two bags each. We left within 2 minutes of it starting, each kid with more cheap, nasty candy than they could eat in a week. I sound ungrateful, considering it was the Lion's Club who sponsored it - old men don't really know what makes a good easter egg hunt. Luckily, Grandma does, and she gave the boys a fun one the next weekend in Boise. In fact, Tyler was saying morning prayer today and he said, "and thank you for Grandma and her easter egg hunt" completely out of the blue. We've been encouraging them to really think before they pray, so I had to smile when he came up with that one. Cameron was amazed at the motorcross guys. Everytime one launched into the air, his little eyes would sparkle and he'd make a "wow" face. Cute boy. Hopefully we can steer him in a different direction before he's old enough to ride a motorcycle. We had an absolutely wonderful time with everyone in Boise. Aubrey and Mark put on a great birthday party! The kids are still wearing their crowns and playing with their party toys. I wish we lived closer!! I included the last picture because I crack up everytime I see the boys watching TV together. They have two whole couches to sit on, but instead they choose to mash together on a single cushion. They happened to fall asleep this day, and I couldn't resist the photo opp. That's about all that's going on for us right now.
