Grace Comedy (or tragedy :)

Tonight we were looking through a photo book I made with pictures from the year 2005. That was a year before Grace was born. When we got to the Halloween pages she saw pictures of BethAnne dressed up like a pioneer girl going trick-or-treating. She asked "What did I dress up like that year?" I said, you weren't born yet. Grace's woeful reply was "I didn't get to go trick or treating?" She complained about that for a minute until she saw the pictures of BethAnne opening her Christmas presents that year. Then she said "What presents did I get for Christmas that year?" I reminded her that she hadn't been born yet. Then she wailed "I DIDN'T GET ANY PRESENTS?!?" It took us a few minutes to get her to stop crying (really crying). I guess some things just don't make sense to a 4-year-old.

Grace Comedy

We were eating leftovers for lunch and Grace was studying the pot-sticker she had bitten into. She asked "what's inside of this Mom?" I said "maybe cabbage and pork". Then Grace said- "Maybe Quiche!"

Yesterday, Grace had a couple of accidents (which hasn't happened in a long time) so we spent a lot of time in the evening talking about how we only poop in the potty. Then a little while later BethAnne asked Mark a question about having more dessert and he answered "no". She wasn't paying attention (or she didn't like the answer) when he answered, so she asked the question again. Mark said "I already answered you, what was the answer?" There was silence for a second so Grace answered with her guess- "POOP!"

Have a great day!

Aubrey

New Landscaping

Here is our new house with our newer landscaping! We're sad that we didn't take a "before" picture, because it was truly something to behold. I have never seen weeds and plants become one tangled, dead mess like that. We took all those plants and weeds out, then Mark put in the new plants (they will grow a lot bigger over time), then he put weed barrier down, and then he put perma bark on top (it sounds simple but it took a lot of work). Even the "ugly bugly" tree looks better now that Mark trimmed it a little. Have a great day!

Purple Princesses

Hi Everyone,

I found matching dresses in all the girl's sizes! I know it's a little corny, but it's so fun to have 3 girls! We are enjoying our new ward and we love having Sundays to relax and be with family. We worked hard yesterday and Friday evening putting in new landscaping in our front yard (pictures to follow). We had fun at the nursery (in the blazing heat) picking out bushes. I even did some of the hard work taking out the old plants and weeds which had all melded together into a huge mess. Mark wanted to get it all done yesterday so he worked all day and late into the evening and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. It really helps us feel more like this is our house. I think it helps the outside look a lot better. We'll still probably paint the house a totally different color one of these years, but this helps. We're looking forward to school starting, the kids are getting restless (and a little sick of each other I think). I think this school year will go really well. I hope you are all doing well. Love you guys!

Love,
Aubrey

Princess Grace's 4th Birthday

It's fitting that Grace wanted to wear a princess outfit on her birthday, she called it her "party dress." We had a fun time with our first big party at our house on Sunday, July 25th. Both sets of Grandparents came and Auntie Lisa and Chrissy and Jon. The funniest part of the evening was when Grace dropped her 4 new crisp dollar bills on the floor because they paled in comparison the new singing card Grandma had given her. It's amazing that she started out a tiny 4 pound baby. We are very happy to have her in our family, she is so smart and very sweet and very spicy! Have a great week!
