Big Ol' Tree

Last month our neighbor's tree fell over the fence and into our yard. It got stuck in our trees so it ended up just hovering over our swingset and shed. The guys who took the tree down hooked ropes around it, anchored the ropes to the surrounding trees, then cut it up piece by piece while standing on it (the guy was harnessed like a mountain climber, standing on the downed tree, and cutting it up with his chainsaw while he was standing on it; every time a piece came off, the tree would shift, his chainsaw would cut off automatically, and he would just dangle freely in the air until he found his footing again; it was amazing).
The fallen tree ended up damaging some of our other trees, so we had four more trees removed. The back yard has since been cleaned up, but the kids had a ton of fun playing on the logs before then. Xander loooves playing outside and getting dirty!
